featuring our special guest from the City of Angels
(KCRW / theLIFT / AfroFunke)
Jeremy Sole is on a mission to show how
music is a singular universal language, and that each culture’s rhythms
and melodies are no more than slang--different accents of the same
mother tongue. His DJ sets, remixes and original compositions juxtapose
world sounds and experimental beats into a sonic ritual - a celebration
of life out loud.
"Jeremy Sole was a revelation."
-Gilles Peterson(DJ/Tastemaker/Radio Host, BBC London)
"If I was a DJ full time, I would most likely spin like Jeremy Sole.
His mind and soul hears exactly what I hear."
-Raphael Saadiq (Musician/Performer)
"Beautiful choices of music... a whole different vibe."
-David Lynch (Director, Writer)
"Jeremy Sole is a man of good taste & tasteful mixing.
Los Angeles is lucky to have him ...he's a goldmine of music."
-Quantic (Musician/Composer/Band Leader/DJ, Colombia) "Jeremy Sole is not only a world class DJ, but a world class citizen of the world.
One of my favorite dudes in the game hands down, and a fucking phenomenal talent."
-Rich Medina (DJ/Promoter) "Jeremy is a great DJ, presenter, producer and knower-of-music ...an extremely cool dude.
I cannot stop listening to his remix of 'I Put A Spell On You' ...it's irresistible."
-Henry Rollins (DJ/Music Historian/Spoken Word Legend, Black Flag/NatGeo) "Jeremy's in my top 2 for good Global dancefloor DJs."
-Nickodemus (DJ/Producer/Label Owner, Wonderwheel Records/Turntables On The Hudson) “One of the only successful AND good DJs in LA (those are usually mutually exclusive)."
-Peanut Butter Wolf (owner, Stones Throw records) "Jeremy Sole is one of the consummate tastemakers in the U.S. and a bad ass DJ to boot!
I'm honored to have to played alongside him and I'm proud to call him a friend."
-DJ Day (DJ/Producer) “Jeremy constantly shatters World Music boundaries and
catapults his audience on a sublime international journey."
-DJ Nu-Mark (DJ/Producer, Jurassic 5)

Fueled by a successful Kickstarter Campaign, Cilantro Boombox is releasing its self-titled debut album. The grassroots approach in the production of the album had members of the band and collaborators recording anywhere from apartments to hot storage rooms. But don't let that fool you, the album, produced by Félix Pacheco counts on collaborations from many talented and well known musicians in the Austin scene as well as artists like Frank Orrall Poi Dog Pondering and Thievery Corporation) and Grammy Award Winner, Adrian Quesada (Grupo Fantasma & Brownout) who lent his mixing talents. Cilantro Boombox's melting pot of sounds and influences shape a very original and dynamic collection of tracks. The album contains 11 songs that borrow from Latin and Venezuelan rhythms, rock, disco, funk, hip-hop and even second line jazz; all the while maintaining a common sound and electronic vibe that gives Cilantro Boombox its unique sound. From the socially charged lyrics in songs like “La Batalla” to light hearted ones and a few instrumental tracks, this record aims for one thing, "to make people dance". Poi Dog Pondering's Frank Orrall's distinctive voice surrounds the listener in the deeply grooving "All Around". The band has chosen the disco inspired "Last Call" as the first single of the album. In Cilantro Boombox's short life, the band, lead by Bassist/DJ/Producer, Félix Pacheco, has been able to position itself as strong up and coming act, playing shows with Nickodemus, Ursula 1000, Ocote Soul Sounds and Latin Grammy winner, Los Amigos Invisibles.

The story of Kon begins in the record bins of Boston. Like the vinyl he collects, Kon is a rare breed. He consistently shakes up dance floors all the world over, and his popularity is so high that fans actually offer up their own dusty singles and LPs as a gift to this beloved collector. His working command of music history makes him a breathing tome of wax knowledge; to that effect, Shady Records, Dr. Dre, Pete Rock, Diamond D, and Capitol Records (to name but a few) have called upon his expertise. Kon has gained legendary status oversees while achieving domestic recognition from some of the most beloved beat-diggers, DJs, and producers in the game.
"One of the most extraordinary beat diggers in the game." Lord Finesse
"His compilations and mixtapes are underground DJ classics." A-Trak
